David Crochetiere has extensive litigation and transactional experience in the areas of trademark and copyright, First Amendment, entertainment finance litigation, breach of contract, and general entertainment litigation, and has represented motion picture production and distribution companies, software companies, financial institutions, educational toy manufacturers, networks, and authors and publishers of literary works. He has served as lead counsel prosecuting and defending federal and state court actions involving copyright and trademark infringement, Lanham Act violations, unfair competition, prior restraint, name and likeness issues, rights of privacy, trade secrets, breach of distribution and product placement agreements, film finance issues, and extensive TRO and preliminary injunction experience, for plaintiffs and for defendants. Mr. Crochetiere’s clients have included NBC, Morgan Creek Productions, Orion Pictures, and Nintendo of America. Mr. Crochetiere also has a stand-alone appellate practice, and has represented clients before the California Courts of Appeal, the California Supreme Court, and the Ninth and Federal Circuits.

Mr. Crochetiere practiced until 1996 with the litigation group of Loeb & Loeb, where he handled complex intellectual property and entertainment-based litigation. In September 1996, Mr. Crochetiere left Loeb & Loeb to join Baute Crochetiere & Hartley.

Mr. Crochetiere graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude, and received his undergraduate degree in Economics/Political Science from McGill University with First Class Honors. Mr. Crochetiere also studied economics for one year at Claremont McKenna College, where he was on the Dean’s List for Academic Excellence.
