David P. Crochetiere

David P. Crochetiere graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude, and received his undergraduate degree in Economics/Political Science from McGill University with First Class Honors. Mr. Crochetiere also studied economics for one year at Claremont McKenna College where he was on the Dean's List for Academic Excellence.

Mr. Crochetiere practiced until 1996 with the litigation group in the Los Angeles office of Loeb & Loeb LLP, where he handled complex intellectual property and entertainment-based litigation. In early 1996 Mr. Crochetiere was invited to join Loeb & Loeb's newly-formed Intellectual Property group. In September, 1996, Mr. Crochetiere left Loeb & Loeb to join Baute & Tidus.

Mr. Crochetiere has extensive litigation and transactional experience in the areas of trademark and copyright, First Amendment, entertainment finance litigation, breach of contract and general entertainment litigation, and has represented motion picture production and distribution companies, software companies, financial institutions, educational toy manufacturers, networks and authors and publishers of literary works. He has served as lead counsel prosecuting and defending federal and state court actions involving copyright and trademark infringement, Lanham Act violations, unfair competition, prior restraint, name and likeness issues, rights of privacy, trade secrets, breach of distribution and product placement agreements and film finance issues, and extensive TRO and preliminary injunction experience, both offensive and defensive. Mr. Crochetiere's clients have included NBC, Morgan Creek Productions, Orion Pictures and Nintendo of America.

Mr. Crochetiere brings to the representation of his clients a familiarity with the best and the worst of large law firm practice. Together with his colleagues at Baute & Tidus, Mr. Crochetiere is committed to the creation and development of a law firm that provides intelligent, creative and cost effective legal representation directed to achieve the goals of the client, not the law firm.
